Are you interested in smart energy-efficient refurbishment techniques and sustainable solutions for district heating? Join the next Smart City field visit, organised in Bolzano (Italy), in the afternoon of 27 November. The tour will start at 13.30 after a light lunch with a presentation of the network of 150 smart points to be integrated in the city’s street lighting for local climate conditions monitoring, and used as e-vehicles charging stations.
This introduction will be followed by an on-site visit of several buildings that are currently being refurbished following energy-efficient standards. These visits will be the opportunity to present the solar façade installed in the via Brescia construction site, and to discuss solutions implemented in Bolzano to allow tenants to stay home during the renovation process.
For city representatives interested in sustainable district heating systems, the field tour will also include a presentation of the real-time district heating network monitoring system, combined with a visit of Bolzano’s thermal storage facility. Additionally, participants will discover Bolzano pilot cogeneration plant, using a mix of methane and hydrogen to feed the city’s district heating system with lower greenhouse gases emissions.
